By the time your child leaves Year 2, we expect them to be at age related expectation (ARE).
Please note that assessment results for 2019/20, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 were not published as performance measures because of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have continued to publish our 2018/19 data as our most recent set of published results.

The Phonics Screening Check is designed to show how well your child can use the phonics skills they’ve learned up to the end of Year 1, and to identify children who need extra phonics help in Year 2.
