Year 6 Trip to PGL Marchants Hill 2017

Monday 10th July 2017

After a short journey, the children were happy to have arrived at PGL's Marchant Hill site.
They were shown around and then the rooms were announced. Everyone was really excited to get into their accommodation, get unpacked and choose their bed for the week.
A lovely dinner was followed by an evening games session of Wacky Races.
Can't wait for tomorrow. 😄

 Tuesday 11th July 2017

Our first full day at PGL began with an early start and breakfast in the canteen - the food here is amazing.

Our activities for the day were: The challenge course, rifle shooting, the giant swing and the sensory trail.
Everybody enjoyed the challenge course the most because it involved a lot of mud and water and an awful lot of rolling around in it.
The other activities were great too. There was some excellent team work and some fantastic examples of perseverance and determination.

For our evening activities we took part in PGL sports. Brilliant fun!

Bring on Wednesday 😁

Wednesday 12th July 2017

What a day!
Our morning was taken up with the best activity so far - raft building.

The children designed, built, tested and then raced their own rafts in the Marchants Hill lake.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and all got soaking wet.

Our afternoon sessions were Archery and Air Ball. The kids tested their aim in both sessions and were very good.

Another day complete and very much looking forward to tomorrow.

The last full day... and the kids have loved it.

Our activities today were: zip wire, abseiling, problem solving and survivor.
We learnt how to survive on an uninhabited island, work together as a team to solve problems and then had great fun flying through the woods. We even conquered any fears of heights by walking backwards down the abseiling wall.

Just half a days activities left 🙁

Friday 14th July 2017

The last morning at PGL 🙁

Our last two activities were wall climbing and the trapeze.
The vertical wall was pretty high but we got to the top.
For the trapeze the children had to climb the pole and hit the hanging red ball.

We've had an amazing time and definitely don't want to come home.

See you all later on 😁
