Welcome to Sherwood Park Primary School
I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Headteacher at Sherwood Park Primary School. I joined the school in January 2021 and I am very excited to be a part of the school's next journey.

Sherwood Park Primary - Learning for Life Together
Sherwood Park Primary School is a warm, friendly learning environment where everyone is caring, thoughtful and welcoming. There is a lovely, friendly community feel here and everyone (parents/carers, teachers and families) works together to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children. We provide our children with inspiring learning opportunities and we ensure that our children are encouraged, supported and challenged so that they develop a love of learning.
Sherwood Park is a two-form entry primary school with a nursery class and forms part of the Penhill Academy Trust (PAT) comprising of: Blackfen Girls School, Hurstmere School for Boys, Bexley Grammar School and Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School. This puts us in the enviable position as a primary school of not only having access to some excellent secondary school resources and facilities but also guaranteed secondary school places for all our pupils at the two non-selective schools, Blackfen Girls School and Hurstmere Boys .
We are an inclusive school with a limited number of specialist places for children diagnosed with ASD with an Educational Health and Care Plan. We are fortunate to have amazing grounds for all of our children to access that includes; two playing fields, three large playgrounds, an allotment, forest school, a wildlife area with a pond and specialist rooms such as music, art and a computing suite. We are currently going through a major decoration and refurbishment phase and we have installed a brand new EYFS playground, updated our Y5 classrooms, fully refurbished our lower school hall and are developing our Forest School area to include a new Willow Dome classroom.
We provide a nurturing environment to help children strive and achieve in a creative learning atmosphere that focuses on academic excellence. Our broad curriculum is inspirational and exciting. We aim for all of our children to have an enquiring mind about the world and their place in it, equipping them with the skills to enjoy, succeed and have choices in their adult lives. We empower every child to reach their potential.
If you would like any more information about our school please get in touch through the school office and we will be happy to talk to you. I look forward to meeting some of you when you take a tour of the school.
