Autumn Term Fun

We've had lots of fun this half term, learning in different ways. See just a glimpse of some of the things we've been up to.

Year 1: Light and Dark investigation - Science

Year 2: Dinosaur bridge building - Art and Design

Year 3: Forest School

Year 4: Problem Solving and Hockey - Maths and PE

Year 5: Investigating foam - Science

Year 6: Investigating circuits - Science

Have a great Christmas holiday to all of our children and their families.

Diwali Dance Workshop

Earlier in November, the children took part in dance workshops in the hall to celebrate Diwali. Unfortunately we couldn't have the dance tutor physically in school but through the magic of Zoom the children still got to fully take part in the workshop and had a great time!

Children in Need 2020

On Friday 13th November, Sherwood Park supported Children in Need. The children collected coins in money boxes they had decorated, wore spotty clothes and took part in fun activities during the day. The money they donated was used to make Pudsey pics! Keep an eye on this page to find out how much we raised and which class had the most! Well done SP.

Remembrance Day 2020

On Wednesay 11th November at 11:02am, Gary Landick, an ex-Sherwood Park student (and Ms Wood's son), stood on our playground to play The Last Post on his trumpet to signal the end of our 2 minute silence (see a short clip below). The children had taken part in an in-class assembly and discussion about Remembrance Day and hearing the music live made it even more poignant. Most of the children were listening and watching from their classrooms while Year 3 and 6 were outside to watch. Thanks again to Gary who came to play.

#Hello Yellow: World Mental Health Day 2020

On Friday 9th October everyone at Sherwood Park were involved in #HelloYellow day. We dressed up in yellow to help support mental health and wellbeing. Pupils and staff were involved in activities such as yoga/meditating, art and relaxing drawing to find a sense of wellbeing. We were able to raise awareness and £211.95 for Youngminds. Youngminds is a charity that supports young people that have mental health concerns.
