Welcome
I am happy to introduce myself as the Nursery teacher at Sherwood Park Primary School. I have been at the school for 32 years and have spent 15 years working in the Nursery alongside Sue Hollis our Nursery Nurse. I strongly believe that as a teacher I have a responsibility to ensure that the education provided is the best that it can be. Sherwood Park Nursery offers children the opportunity to start their educational journey in a stimulating, safe and caring environment. Every child's development is monitored in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. I believe that it is important that the curriculum that is delivered, prepares our children for their next steps in life by supporting them in being enthusiastic learners who understand the importance of problem solving, risk taking and resilience in the face of obstacles.
Our aims
At Sherwood Park Nursery we aim to:
To offer each child a caring, secure environment in which to develop physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually and morally
- To provide a broad balanced nursery curriculum
- To offer opportunities for first hand discovery and investigation of the world through structured play
- To encourage positive attitudes and values through caring, sharing and valuing differences
- For the school and parents to work in partnership so that each child may move confidently from home to nursery and on to school
- To make learning fun
