Sherwood Park Primary School is a warm, friendly learning environment where everyone is caring, thoughtful and welcoming. We are a two-form entry primary school with a Nursery Class and an 8 place ASD Resource Provision. We are part of the Penhill Academy Trust (PAT) comprising of: Sherwood Park Primary, Blackfen School for Girls, Hurstmere School, Bexley Grammar School and Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School.


Our new teaching assistant will be based within the EYFS/KS1 and will have a focus on working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder . We are looking to appoint an experienced, creative, enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop and immerse themselves in our friendly school. Recent experience of working with young children with ASD is desirable as is experience of working in a school environment. The role will require the teaching assistant to work under the instruction and guidance of our SENCo and our teaching staff to enable pupils with special needs to access learning at an appropriate level. They will also assist the teacher and other support staff in the general management of all pupils and looking after the classrooms. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside in our brand new, exciting, outdoor learning spaces.
